This is a coil pot that I made that I hope to use as a pot for one of my plants when they get mature enough to transfer. I made this pot starting with a pinch pot for the base and then making individual coils and adding them on top of said pinch pot. In doing this I learned to slip and score very effectively because if not done right, this project won't be successful whatsoever. In order to decide what coils to create I had to look at the space available on what I already had assembled. I then had to think about what shape the clay needs to be in to fit in this space. I had to use a steady rhythm when rolling out the coils in order to get an emphasis on each coil, but bring them all together in harmony. The contrast between all the different textures and colors of each coil allows the pot to come together balanced. I get a sort of beautiful mysterious feeling from this, much like one would get from the deep blue sea. I absolutely love my coil pot and look forward to raising a plant baby in it.
