This is a Frankenpot made by Ingrid and I. I had to pull up correctly in order to put my part in (i did the middle piece). I had about four failed attempts before succeeding. This project represents unity because it is all one color. This pot reminds me of deep blue and green colors of the ocean. With this comes a sense of discovery and adventure.
This is a bowl I made on the wheel for my choice project. I had to learn how to pull up correctly in order to make this. Even though I successfully pulled this project I still struggle with it quite a bit when on the wheel. I am determined to get the hang of it one day though so I haven't given up. I used the glaze colors white and matt turquoise. The mixture of these colors made there be a contrast of darker and lighter values of turquoise. The rim of my bowl is a perfect circle, which eases my minor OCD. That circle was formed into the bowl you see here by adding depth and using space. The finished bowl came out with an overall smooth texture. Its evenly smooth all over the entire project, which again is very appeasing to the OCD. The colors used balance each other out very nicely and brings the piece together in a perfect harmony. I dripped glaze on the outside which adds a sense of movement, making it look as if the glaze is still dripping down the outside of the bowl. This project came out perfectly proportioned. So much so that my mom didn't believe that I had made it at first. She goes, "But it's like perfect!", I simply responded with a thank you. I can't wait to eat some tomato soup out of this bowl with my grilled cheese.
